Pure palm is an environmentally friendly natural material that uses 0% wood and is made exclusively from Empty Fruits Bunch.
Empty Fruit Bunch is the residue left after palm oil is extracted from Fresh Fruit Bunch.
To begin with, what is palm oil? Palm oil accounts for about 40% of all edible oils, and is the most produced and consumed oil in the world. Most of it is produced in Southeast Asia, including Indonesia and Malaysia, and exported worldwide.
Palm oil is widely used as an ingredient in foods, cosmetics, detergents, and other products familiar to us in our daily lives. Some of it is also reused as fertilizer and incinerated fuel for oil palm plantations. On the other hand, more than half are dumped without disposal sites, causing emissions of greenhouse gases (GHG) such as CO2 and methane, as well as soil contamination, one of the causes of environmental problems.
However, Empty Fruits Bunche is rich in fiber and can be effectively utilized as a raw material for pulp. Instead of leaving it as waste, the “by-product” that remains after the oil is removed can be used to its maximum potential.
